ACCESS STATEMENT

 

Introduction 
The Port William is the ideal coastal pub. Nestled in the cliffs at Trebarwith Strand the Port William offers locals and visitors a warm welcome, refreshing drink and delicious fresh, local food. Families with children are welcome. Dog friendly. 

 
Pre-Arrival 
Situated upon the cliffs at Trebarwith Strand nr Tintagel, the Port William is the perfect place to curl  watch the waves crashing upon the shore. 

 


Arrival & Car Parking Facilities 
There are two Car Parks.  One is located past the Inn on the cliff side with a turning circle at the top of the lane.  Cars parked here are in single file and next to the wall.  The second car park is by the side of the Inn.  Its has a moderately steep slope going up to it.  
Route from Car Parks is mainly tarmac ~ small tarmac speed ramps, occasional small pot-holes.
Drop off point ~ outside the front door of the Inn.  It is on ground level.  The main entrance is 735mm and fairly narrow.  If wider access is needed there is an alternative access point situated approx 3 metres along the front of the building.  Again access is on the ground level.
Bell for Staff assistance is available at front door.
Outside of Inn is well lit.

 

Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area 
Music can be turned down on request ~ please ask a member of staff who will be happy to help.
Dogs are allowed ~ The Port William is a Dog Friendly Inn.
Opening Times of the Inn: Mon - Sat ~ 11am to 11pm & Sun ~ 11am to 10.30pm
Counter top of Bar area is 1015mm high and adequately lit.
The main entrance, reception & bar area is all on one level.
The aisles are wide and there is good constant lighting throughout.

 
Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc 
Well lit throughout all public areas.  
All on ground level except for a small 125mm step down into the Conservatory area (left).
There is a Conservatory area (right) which has no step down & offers the same spectacular views!
Staff are willing to help when requested.
Toilets can be found at the rear of the property on the same level with no steps see WC's section for details.

 
Public WCs 
The WC's are located to the rear of the building.  Access is gained through a 735mm wide door from the bar area along a wide well lit corridor.  There is one fire door en-route at 760mm wide.
The disabled WC is unisex with baby changing facilities.
There is wide access inside the WC area & it is well lit.  Hand rails are provided for support & an emergency response pull cord is fitted & fully functioning.
There is a hand drier fitted to the wall 735mm high & the hand basin is 735mm from the floor.

 
Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Bar area, Take Away & Cafe 
Good constant adequate lighting throughout.
Good wide access throughout the Restaurant & Bar areas.
Tables & Chairs are moveable.  Please ask staff if you require assistance.
Menus ~ Braille Menus provided on request.
Allergies and special dietary requirements are catered for.  Please phone in advance if possible.
Waitress service at your table is provided throughout.
Children are allowed in the Restaurant areas & high chairs are available on request.

Food served:
Breakfast served ~ 8.30am -  9.30am
Lunch served      ~ 12 noon -  9.00pm
Tea / Coffee / Snacks served all day.

 
Conference & Meeting Rooms, Banqueting 
Found at the rear of the property on the same corridor as the WC's.
Entrance is through wide double doors.
Flat entrance with good lighting throughout.
Excellent modern conference room  
Civil wedding and partnership ceremonies performed.

Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas 
No wheel chair access to any of the sleeping accommodation.
DeafGard available on request at reception ~  DeafGard placed under pillow vibrates and alerts deaf and hard of hearing persons to fire emergency high intensity flashing strobe provides additional safeguard of visual emergency warning, additional audible warning for hearing companion. DeafGard offers clock and alarm clock facility DeafGard ensures full compliance with DDA DeafGard is perfect for hotels and other accommodation facilities presenting relevant risk to deaf people.
The Port William Inn has 7 double & 1 twin room all are en suite with bath and shower.
